WORKSHOPS

Introduction to Mixed Media Collage DP19WS08w
Instructor: Debi Pendell
Monday-Friday, March 10-14, 9:00-4:00 (WINTER SESSION)
Learn a unique and particular method of collage combined with mixed media in which the "glue" is a mixture of acrylic soft gel matte and fine pumice gel. This mixture is applied both under and over the collaged pieces using an intuitive and spontaneous process, and the work develops in layer over layer of collage and mixed media. Combine accidental materials, such as, found objects, wrapping paper, letters, photographs, text, with intentional materials, like painted papers, drawings, and specially created objects. Add painting, drawing, stitching, textures, etc., according to what your individual work calls for. The combination of the accidental and the
intentional will spark ideas and associations and guide the work. No oil-based media will be used. Basic concepts will be addressed in group critique sessions: composition, color, line, shape, texture, content, etc. This workshop is suitable for everyone - from beginner to professional artist. No prerequisite required. Enrollment is limited to 10 students. Cost: $484; members: $436
