WORKSHOPS

Painting with Felt FR05SP08w
Instructor: Jeannie Thomma
Sunday, April 27, 10:00-4:00
The alchemy of felting has historically been considered magical by many people. By exposing loose wool fibers to a combination of heat, moisture, friction and soap, a felted painting is born. In this workshop, students will play with color, texture and pattern as they create realistic or abstract works of fiber art. We'll explore a variety of felting techniques, which will allow students the flexibility of choosing to create a wearable work of art (like a scarf) or a beautiful wall hanging. In fact, time may allow for both!  Open to artists of all levels working in all media. Wool roving and batting (supplies) will be provided with a materials fee payable to instructor. Cost: $112; members: $101
