Basketry FR01SU13
Baskets woven in this session will combine techniques used in splint style, round reed, and ribbed basketry to create structurally strong, functional baskets with artistic design elements. Individual projects will vary according to choices made by each participant. Open to all levels of experience. Beginners welcome.

WEAVING
Floor Loom Weaving FR02SU13
For beginners, learn the basics of preparing and operating a loom to weave a sampler combining many useful weaves then complete the term by planning and weaving one or two simple projects of their choice. For intermediate and advance students, individual guidance will be given to design and weave projects with more complex structures and use of multi harness looms. $15 materials fee for beginners only.

FASHION
Fashion Illustration: From Sketchpad to Canvas FR03SU13
Come discover fashion drawing through a fine art process. This course will broaden your art eye with drawing techniques that help with hand/eye coordination, color expression, movement of line and texture. We’ll work from a live fashion model in this class, and you will work in several different art media, including watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal, pastels and collage with paper and fabric. You will explore the ranges of art and art ideas through a fashion lens and possibly find your inner René Gruau. A materials list will be available upon registration. This class is also open to young people ages 16 and older.

Re-Fashion => Re-Dress => Re-Fabulous FR04SU13
Is that favorite garment that fits you like a glove going to pieces? Don’t throw it away! In this course you will breathe chic back into your favorite garment. First, you will make a pattern copy of your favorite garment, then sew and construct a new and improved one. You’ll recycle your favorite garment with new energy - adding new fabric, trim and decorative details where needed - making your favorite piece fresh and more exciting. Remember: recycling is the new black. A materials list will be available upon registration. (No class July 4.)
